Malacca.

220909 & 230909.

This post should've been up a week ago.

Since it's this late already,
I shall attempt to squeeze almost two days worth of pictures into one post.

XD

During this trip,
camwhoring skills has gone up to another level.
The pictures are actually properly composed.
lol.
(Minus the out-of-focus faces.)

Day One.

Drove to Malacca with a Proton Flinstone,
and made it there safe and sound.

=D

Found an extremely cheap budget hotel.
I think it was Cheng Hoe Hotel.
Very nice and clean.
I like.

XD

Went for a walk along Jonker Street.
Typical way to start off a holiday in Malacca.

Had lunch at Cavalanthe Cafe or something like that.
I can't remember.
Apparently they have all the 13 types of coffee from every state.
I didn't try any but
I bet my mom would love them.

My cup of dragon fruit and watermelon sorbet from a stall by the road.
It was niceee....~

The food was quite good although it isn't the typical street food kinda thing that one would look for.

After lunch,

Satay Celup for dinner and Malacca night scene for supper.

Yummms....~

Visited some Neon-lighted bridge, the dancing fountain nearby and some funfair that I-forgot-the-name of.

and KO-ed after midnight.

=)

Day Two started off quite late.

We wanted dim sum for breakfast
and coincidentally, there was one right next to the place we stayed at!
tee hee.

Continued exploring the rest of Jonker Street after breakfast.

andd...

I think we found the front entrance to the Cheng Ho Tea House.
It didn't turn out to be as mysterious as the always-closed-back-entrance that we always thought was the front entrance.
haha.
(ignore me.)

Went into the ever famous Orang Utan Art shop.

"Play safe, use Malaysian rubber."

Had our last bowl of cendol before leaving Jonker area,

Bumped into a tart shop,
apparently, a famous one.
Tried the Chocolate Cheese Tart and Peppermint Cheese Tart.

Initial plan to go Pulau Besar was cancelled.
Decided to visit Pulau Melaka instead.

Pulau Melaka was literally just a bridge away;
a very very short bridge away.

It turned out to be an extremely tiny abandoned commercial area.
but
with a really pretty mosque above the waters.

The place was so nice we camwhored gao gao until the guard chased us away because I was wearing shorts.
Chased...like literally..with muka garang and all.

-.-"

Visited the Portuguese Settlement next.

Not as happening as expected.
Nothing much to see except this old wooden bridge leading to the middle of the ocean.
Maybe because we went during the day.
hmm...

The bridge itself was nice enough anyway.
haha.

Ended our trip with soya bean.
and Yew Tiao...
and...home made tofu.

=)

Altogether,
we had loads of fun...
minus the fact that I didn't shop as much as expected.

My mom should be happy to read this.
lol.

If only we stayed another night.
Then maybe we wouldn't have missed the sunset on the highway.
bleh..~
