Hair and Cake.

Today I became a partial redhead.

and I'm hoping it gets REAAALLLLY red.

XD

Then, there was another random urge to bake.

This time,

carrot cake with cream cheese frosting.

Sadly, frosting a bit fail due to my impatience. lol.

But the cake was YUMMY!

=D

Oh, and never replace a cup of icing sugar with castor sugar.

blerghh..~

lol?

And did I mention?

I got stripped of my rights to reckless driving yesterday.

I should be happy, shouldn't I?

haha.

110709.

I heart hearts.

and today, we made custard puffs.

=)

Not bad for a first-timer, eh?

Chocolate drizzle a bit fail though.

But it was yummielicious all the way.

lol.

12th RWMF Preview.

Last Wednesday, Lily, Nic and I attended the 12th Rainforest World Music Fest preview at the Amphitheatre in Kuching.

The event was supposed to start at 7pm.

Me, being 'kiasu' thought that it'll be packed way before 7pm asked Lily to pick us up at 6:15pm. lol.

But, she came at 6:30pm and we got there at 6:45pm.

It was so empty we also felt 'paiseh' to get out of the car. haha.

Worst yet, the emcee announced that they'll start in another half an hour.

T_T

Sit there so long with nothing to do.

Wanna camwhore but my compact made it impossible. blah~

Finally, at 7:30pm, the show started.

Lucky they didn't postpone any longer since the three of us were all starving already.

There were four bands that performed that night.

First one was a sape performance by a Sarawakian band.

I love sape music but it can get boring after a few songs. heh.

The emcee and the organiser,
Mr. Randy Rush Rain. (Seriouly, his name sounded like that.)

Next performance was by a Sabahan band.

It sounded to me like my high school orchestra.

No offense.

=X

(and I didn't know the Sompoton sounded like the accordion.)
haha.

Third group of the night,

Red Chambers.

A Chinese Canadian group and they were awesome!

Watching them play makes you wonder how their fingers survive all the extreme strumming and plucking.

=S

Last band was Akasha, a West Malaysian group.

My favourite too.

=)

There will be 17 groups altogether performing at Rainfest this year.

I've watched 4 groups.

This would mean I've 'attended' 40% of the event!
*self-comfort*

bleh..~

We finally got to eat dinner at about 9:45pm.

Went over to Sarakraf Pavilion Courtyard Cafe for dinner.

Name so high class. -.-"

lol.

and the three 'kiasi' people with all their sanitizers.

haha.

Videos from the performances.
hehe.

Datun Jelut is a traditional song by the Orang Ulu tribe of Sarawak. It's usually played by the males with the sape.
Red Chambers, a group of four females attempt to play this music with Chinese traditional instruments instead.

From the Uncoloured to the Coloured.

A few pictures from the preview.

Good or not, I don't know.

I think my 'skills' are evaporating.

That is if I ever had any in the first place.

Anyway, here are a few which I think look good in B&W.

The organizers.

Waiting...

Friends.

And one that should or should not be in B&W.

I can't tell. lol.

Watching the show.

And a few unfocused shots I like.

=)

Bokeh pictures, I assume?

Stage lights.

Morse Code.

I wonder who created the word 'bokeh'?

It doesn't sound nice and I don't like it. haha.

As for the results - I like.

XD

Please, do comment.
hehe.

Preview 080709.

Unfocused.

The weather earlier on was great!

Four bands performed.

and the last two were awesome!

Can't believe I said no to FREE 3-days pass tickets for RWMF.

GAH!

*bangs head*
*slaps self*
*kicks self*

T_T

Bimbotic scene:

Location: Sarakraf Pavilion Courtyard Cafe.

After bill was paid, check reciept.

A: Eh, what is 'F'?
(refers to a letter 'F' written under the quantity column of the bill)
B: Err..maybe it's a '3'
A: Cannot be..looks like 'F'. Hmmm...
B: Maybe it's Chinese. Got three strokes.
A: But don't look like Chinese also. Why the strokes like that?
C: Maybe it's Cantonese.

bleh..~

Nonetheless, tonight was fun.

Last Weekend.

Attended

- 2nd half of the KL Design Forum 2009
- Datum: KL 2009
- ArchiDex

The finale.

First day was BORING!
Second day was good and it should have been on the first day instead. bleh.

Only thing I seem to remember clearly are a few things Zhang Ke (China) said.
(Of course, not in his exact words.)

"When we were designing this building, the client only cared about bla bla bla..the developer on the other hand, only cared about bla bla bla. So, basically, nobody cared!"

"The client wanted a huge mall for this area. Instead, we designed 6 separate building blocks. The client asked us to change it but we didn't care. We liked it. In the end, the client had to approve the design."

"The engineers told me that this corridor wouldn't work. But I believed that it can work. So, we hired some young engineers to do the work instead."

and I don't think whatever I remembered is relevant to my studies. lol.

Archidex was interesting though.
I loved the interior design section.

XD

And here are a few 'copycat' pictures. haha.

The bling-bling chair.

The bling-bling chandelier.

All FAILED.
blah..~

Oooh...
There was this mini petting zoo with a hippo too!

hehe.

Other than all the formal stuff we paid RM160 for, we did a couple of random outings ourselves.

The first night, we went all the way to Ikea and my aunty paid RM53 for taxi!

Note: DON'T EVER TAKE THE BLUE COLOURED TAXI!

At Ikea/ Ikano, we bought T-shirts!
lol.

Next night, we hiked up to KL Tower supposedly for Indie Fest.
BLAH!

Got there and everyone chao already.
-.-"

So we hiked back to KLCC and had Chillies for dinner.
BAD EXPERIENCE!
haha.

and I guess that's enough words for this post.

=P
