Last Wednesday, Lily, Nic and I attended the 12th Rainforest World Music Fest preview at the Amphitheatre in Kuching.
The event was supposed to start at 7pm.
Me, being 'kiasu' thought that it'll be packed way before 7pm asked Lily to pick us up at 6:15pm. lol.
But, she came at 6:30pm and we got there at 6:45pm.

It was so empty we also felt 'paiseh' to get out of the car. haha.
Worst yet, the emcee announced that they'll start in another half an hour.
T_T

Sit there so long with nothing to do.
Wanna camwhore but my compact made it impossible. blah~

Finally, at 7:30pm, the show started.
Lucky they didn't postpone any longer since the three of us were all starving already.
There were four bands that performed that night.
First one was a sape performance by a Sarawakian band.
I love sape music but it can get boring after a few songs. heh.

The emcee and the organiser,
Mr. Randy Rush Rain. (Seriouly, his name sounded like that.)
Next performance was by a Sabahan band.
It sounded to me like my high school orchestra.
No offense.
=X

haha.
Third group of the night,
Red Chambers.
A Chinese Canadian group and they were awesome!
Watching them play makes you wonder how their fingers survive all the extreme strumming and plucking.
=S

Last band was Akasha, a West Malaysian group.
My favourite too.
=)

There will be 17 groups altogether performing at Rainfest this year.
I've watched 4 groups.
This would mean I've 'attended' 40% of the event!
*self-comfort*
bleh..~
We finally got to eat dinner at about 9:45pm.
Went over to Sarakraf Pavilion Courtyard Cafe for dinner.
Name so high class. -.-"
lol.
and the three 'kiasi' people with all their sanitizers.
haha.

Videos from the performances.
hehe.
Datun Jelut is a traditional song by the Orang Ulu tribe of Sarawak. It's usually played by the males with the sape.
Red Chambers, a group of four females attempt to play this music with Chinese traditional instruments instead.
=)
