Folk Art Forum 2008

Finally, both RWMF and the Folk Art Forum are over!!

Gone are the days where we had to drive all the way up to Damai during the day, and all the way down again late at night. Well, it was only for four days, lah..just wanna exaggerate. XD

But I have to admit, it was definitely an experience! A VERY VERY MEMORABLE experience. =D

It took like more than a month to make the whole event run smoothly (or maybe longer, I wouldn't know), and in just four days, everything was over.

Since I'm helping out with the forum, I got an official pass for RWMF '08, which includes FREE PASSES for all the THREE DAYS!! (This was also my very first RWMF experience, as well..sad, huh??)
The forum, which was on the 10th of July, was held at the Dewan Lagenda located right next to the RWMF stage. =P

There were more than 100 students who attended the forum. Most of them were from UNIMAS and the Batu Lintang Teachers' College (if I'm not mistaken).

And my high school friend, Sonia came with her friend!! Yay!!! =D

The whole forum began with talks from three artists who were:-
Mr. Sylvester Jussem - Sarawak
Ms. Jennifer P.Linggi - Sabah
Mr. DAF - Ireland (but currently living in Kuching)

Then, after lunch, there was the workshop, conducted by four other artists,
Mr. Tan Wei Kheng
Mr. Razali
Mr. Zaim
Mr. Don
(don't know their full names) eheh..

Tan Wei Kheng did a demo for his portrait drawings.

Damn good right???

The other artists, Razali and Don, did free caricatures for those who attended.

and Zaim did free portrait paintings. =)

Me and my favourite sculptor, DAF..lol~

Like I said, it was an experience! My job was to prepare a Powerpoint presentation for DAF, and he was fun to work with, but not really an easy person although he's always joking around.

He made me nervous even though I'm not presenting! haha..

Everytime he sees me, he will surely remind me to do a good job for him. If not, I"LL BE THE ONE TO BLAME! Big responsibility, huh??

Worst of all was on the morning of the forum, all his presentation went haywire! Pictures were not in their right places and some appeared upside down. Gosh! I was extremely nervous and DAF came along and asked me, "Everything's good, right?? Tell me everything's good."

So yeah, I had to lie and tell him everything was fine. haha..but thank God everything went perfectly well! In the beginning, I was afraid the pictures wouldn't be enough to go on for 45 minutes, but it turned out that we did not manage to show all the pictures even when DAF dragged on his presentation for another extra 5 minutes or so. =D

Even Ms. Jennifer Lau from RTM complimented me, telling me I did a great job..hehehe...~

And during lunch, I was sitting next to this Datuk, which I didn't even know was a Datuk..lol~

So there, my super great experience! *beams proudly* =D

Cheers!!~

P.S - More pictures ahead! =P
