Gah....!!!

As we all know, the price of petrol have increased as much as RM0.78 per liter..and now, it's RM2.70 per liter.. (did i get the numbers right???)

Everyone is unhappy about it. I don't even own a car and I, too am unhappy about it. This means everything 'naik harga'. My current pocket money is not even enough for me to save to buy stuff that I want! (Eg. a DSLR camera, a new bag, a new wallet, probably a few clothes and shoes, etc... =P) Plus, as an architecture student, I need a lot of money to buy all the materials and crap I need for my projects, you know???

and now, since petrol price increase, I bet food and drinks and transportation fees are increasing as well. "How to save money lidat????!!!"

Even before petrol price increase so much, the taxis in KL already 'makan' people teruk-teruk. I live opposite Sunway Pyramid, and initially, the taxi fare was RM5 just to get to the other side of the road. Then, the government did a little change to the roads, and the fare increased to RM7! Ask the drivers to use meter they chase you away. =.= (If use meter ar...it will only be RM5! - with the new road system lah) Worst thing is, they charge you RM20-25 to go One Utama when it's only RM10-15 WITH METER! Always giving excuses like "traffic jam lah", "if go there i got no passenger to come back..rugi tau?"...bla bla bla...

Thank God for our ever-so-faithful uncle who uses meter wherever we go. =D

Anyway, back to petrol prices..

See..everyone unhappy till facebook also created a group to show our unhappiness..lol~

By the way, Malaysia produces its own oil! Why compare petrol prices to other non-oil-producing countries??? Isn't that unfair?? It's like eating at home and eating outside. Eat at home = free/cheaper. Eat outside of course more expensive lah!

and I just read Dr.Mahathir's blog a while ago..

"Roughly Malaysia produces 650,000 barrels of crude per day. We consume 400,000 barrels leaving 250,000 barrels to be exported.

Three years ago the selling price of crude was about USD30 per barrel. Today it is USD130 – an increase of USD100. There is hardly any increase in the production cost so that the extra USD100 can be considered as pure profit.

Our 250,000 barrels of export should earn us 250,000 x 100 x 365 x 3 = RM27,375,000,000 (twenty seven billion Ringgit).

But Petronas made a profit of well over RM70 billion, all of which belong to the Government.

By all accounts the Government is flushed with money.

But besides petrol the prices of palm oil, rubber and tin have also increased by about 400 per cent. Plantation companies and banks now earn as much as RM3 billion in profits each. Taxes paid by them must have also increased greatly.

I feel sure that maintaining the subsidy and gradually decreasing it would not hurt the Government finances."

I don't really know about politics and stuff..but from what I understand, I don't think petrol prices should increase THAT MUCH!

Just feel like sharing my thoughts..hee hee...

Gotta get back to work now!~

Cheers!~
